Built On A Solid Foundation

Right outside of Atlanta, a brand new 500,000 square foot distribution center was being constructed. In the beginning of construction, the developers wanted to lay a clay subbase below the foundation, but there was a small issue with this clay subbase.

The weather was extremely rainy in the beginning building stages, causing the subbase to be too wet. This rain caused major puddles that were going to delay the top layer of concrete from being poured. Instead of letting the job get delayed, these contractors utilized a TRUVAC HXX full-size excavator.

Sucking up all of the water on the jobsite in a timely manner, the TRUVAC HXX proved the power behind its vacuum. After the use of the HXX, the top concrete layer was able to be poured and the construction schedule remained on time!
